Darlene was born on May 17, 1923, a daughter of Sam and Alta (Sprinkle) Williams. She married Charles R. Smith on October 23, 1939 in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death on August 5, 1988 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Richard A. Smith; four sisters; and four brothers.

She was an active missions supporter through South Side Mission and her church, Peoria First Assembly of God.

Darlene, you were one of the kindest, most generous and caring people we ever knew.  You had the sweetest smile - one that showed that God was truly living in and through you.  You brought so much love into my Uncle Cliff's life, for which I am so grateful.  Randy and I pray that your family will treasure all of the precious memories they are left with.  Thank you for making this world a better place.  May God bless your family during this difficult time.  (Daughter and son-in-law of Dorothy Smith, niece of Cliff Draggist).

I will never forget all of the good times we had together.  You taught me so much about the Bible and would not have come this far in my spiritual walk if it weren't for you.  You have always been there for me.  I feel so bad that I could not be there with you at the end.  Your friendship will always be treasured and you will be missed by all that knew you.  May God comfort your family at this time.  I will never forget our love and friendship through the years.
